What Seed Do You Have?
I
want to start this article by addressing one single and simple truth that
everyone must understand. We are “here” not because we do not want to get
“there” but simply because we have not realized what we have to get us “there”.
For it will take us the understanding of what we have to get what we need. If
we fail to appreciate what we have, we will never appreciate in what we do not
have. All we need to succeed is right within us, it is not far fetched. I have
come to realize that the greatest problem facing man is his inability to
identify the solutions within his disposal to address his problems. Before now,
I used to agree with the saying that man’s greatest problem is his inability to
identify his problem but you will surely agree with me now that man identifies
and understands his problems even before he wakes up from sleep. The
compounding of our problems lie within the maxim that we do not trust in what
we have rather we prefer to seek for solution where there is no solution. I get
angered daily with the happenings in my generation. Everybody wants to be
dependent on somebody who will in turn supply them with all that they need. Oh!
I get infuriated with such people for I see them as a mistake in this
generation. The cost of success is so demanding that most people find it
preferable settling in the normal life. I want to seriously address this here; no body
is responsible for your failure or success for you are what you made
yourself. Do not blame your dad, mum,
brother, sister, relative, friends, or government for your life mayhem. You are
the captain of your life wherever you sail to, that will be your
offloading/landing point. I do not care
of your background or whatever excuse that you may have but I want to remind
you that there is no excuse for failure. You do not need a better government or
better environment; you only need a better mind. Total mind adjustment not
government. Believe me, the basis of success and/or the foundation of
breakthrough is not dependent on the weight of educational or professional
certifications rather it is dependent on the real discovery of your personality
on earth. Schooling gives you a certificate while the discovery of your
potentials makes you a fortune. Whether you know it or not, Professors still
die poor, doctors still die wretched, engineers still die maimed with poverty,
lawyers still die having nothing to will out. Education teaches you how to get
a job while your potentials teach you to create job. In fact, your potentials
make you a job because it is only your potential that will transform a work
from warfare to funfare; servitude to ownership; kingship/enthronement.
Servitude is a curse worse than poverty. You can be a wealthy slave but you can
not be a slave when you have discovered your own niche/life-space. You will
remain a slave if you keep operating in another man’s territory. If you remain
ignorant of who you are; you will become a slave to everyone. So what are my
trying to say? If you are dependent on your qualification to succeed then you
may have to join them in becoming slaves and perhaps, dyeing poor too.
I
love education and professionalism and I pursue them with passion but they are
not my anchor for great success. Education only polishes our mentality; it does
not guarantee success. You can have the
best knowledge yet live as a pauper. It
is not in the knowing; it is in the application. Your essence of getting
educated is to empower your potential; not for you to live independent of your
potential. Get off the normal life and try something abnormal, different, and
unique, something that will keep impacting lives even after you are gone.
Listen to me, if you are a doctor, professor, lecturer, or whatever
professional cadre you belong to; I
want to be sincere with you. If you are comfortable with retirement, pension
and gratuity, then, I am sure that you too, are a mistake to this
generation. Stop chasing your pension
and start chasing your passion. Ah!
What
if you are a youth reading this article and your life plan is to make money
after then what? Build a house then what? Marry then what? Give birth then? You
will soon run out of what next because you have not identified your essence on
earth, you only have an imaginary agenda; a mirage. Yes, you have to take a
step to reality and I want to announce to you that the most real of all things
is not yet discovered. A life-plan that never has a discovery plan will never
have a true success. Discovery is the route to recovery; there is nothing to
recover if there is nothing discovered. True success is not a measure of how
much; it is rather a measure of how well. It is not a function how much you
were able to make or have made rather it is a function of how many lives you
were able to impact with what you have.
Understand me in this, most people live imaginary and unreal lives, a
mirage because they have been made to believe that money is everything. No!
Success will give you wealth but wealth is not the base for success. Your
potentials will give you wealth but wealth will not give you potentials. If
your only reason to get success is to be comfortable in life then you are a
practical mayhem, a serious hazard to this generation. Surely, you are!!! How
can you be comfortable while your generation is not comfortable? Every man in every generation has an
assignment to solve a specific problem, never live without discovering what
this assignment might be. Understand this, you are a solution; never present
yourself as a problem. People fight problems and embrace solution. You can as
well assess yourself to find out what you are. A problem or solution?
Another
infuriating issue over my generation is their perfection in murmuring and
complains. This can only build up our problems effectively and efficiently. No
one thinks well while in murmur or complain.
They are solution drainers. They
can only allow you to identify what others would have done to better a
situation; they will never allow you to identify and discover what you must do
to remedy a situation. Murmuring and complain will never allow you to identify
the potentials. So, why murmur and complain? Stand up today and fix yourself.
Stop blaming people, environment, government or whoever; start taking
responsibility. Stop the murmuring and complain. It only compounds your
problem. I am very sure by the time you decide to fix yourself; an aspect of
this generation will surely be fixed.
DISCOVER
YOUR POTENTIALS NOW.
If
you are to busy to think; then you are too busy to prosper. Ideas are free but
to manifest them requires resources which are your potentials. People are not
poor because of the color of their skin but they are poor because of the color
of their mind for a decorated mind produces a decorated life. No man is born
with nothing; everyone is born with something. The question is what are you
born with? We are not in a photocopied world so do not live a photocopied life.
This earth is real and you have an assignment here. Now listen to this; there
are no disadvantaged people; we only have “ignorantaged” people. People who had
turn on to abject servitude because of ignorance. Wisdom is as powerful to build as ignorance
is as powerful to destroy. Beware of this, There are no hard or difficult
places; there are only hard or difficult people. There are no situations as
such as hopeless; we only have hopeless people. You can only become hopeless
when you are ignorant of the wealth in you. Your potentials!
Potentials are simply the seeds of greatness
in you that have not yet manifested. The conception of those ideas that have
the potency to live but are not yet living. They are the hidden capacity,
untapped power and unreleased energy within you. It is all that you could be
but have not yet become. We all are the
seeds that are being planted which sprouts up to produce replicates of itself.
The hope of a forest is in a seed. In this, I can say without mixing words that
our generation is waiting for the manifestation of those depositions in you. If
you believe that the essence of being on earth is to become a lawyer, doctor,
engineer or whatever; then you are getting it wrong because in you is something
greater than what you think you are.
That is your potential. Your
career or profession can give you a guide to your potential. To some, it may be
talents and gifts while others, it is passion.
In
my last article “Understanding Ideas”, I made it clear that we all must learn
to hold on to our dreams for us to have true success. Search deep within you
and find out what potentials you have.
THE HARD-CORE QUESTIONS OF LIFE
1. What are my known for?
For
you to live in life, you must identify and carve out your niche on earth. You
are not created to do everything rather you are created to do a specific thing.
The Wright Brothers are known for inventing the aircraft, Bill Gate is known
for Microsoft, Michael Faraday is known for electricity, Thomas Edison is known
for light-bulb and many others. They were not known for everything; they were
only known for something. These men are for years gone yet their inventions
still have positive impact on us. If at their time, they were able to conquer
their limitations when there were no laptops, ipads, internet, established
methodologies then, surely we have no reason to fail. Just pause and ask
yourself this question; what are my known for? Do not be skeptical with this
and do not try to balance your ego, be sincere with yourself and do not compare
yourself with any one because you are not just anyone; you are someone.
2. What value do I carry?
The
cost of entrepreneurship is so high that’s why most people settle for
intrapreneurship. Now do not
misunderstand or misinterpret this, there is a possibility that someone could
be known for something that does not have a value. At the other hand, someone
can be placed on a high rank yet, no value. You can be a doctor, lawyer,
professor, senator, governor, even president yet, no value. Whenever I remember
people like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa and others in
this category, I feel great joy because they were not looking for something to
grab rather they were pouring all of their being to their generation to make it
a better place. Mandela, the other day was announced sick and virtually the
whole world went into praying and fasting for him to recover even at his age
while in the present day governance, the populace pray and fast for their
leaders either to be impeached or to be destroyed. What are we trying to say
here “Leaders without value; Poor quality high grade commodities” Albert
Einstein died and his brain was preserved for it is believed that he had an
electric brain and his inventions in thermodynamics and electricity can never
die while the present day professors die and they are buried with both their
skulls and brains. No Value!
It
is a pity today that instead of us going to school to procure solutions that
will help our generation, we rather develop our IQ to cheat and dupe our
generation. We are now certified in both grabbing what is not ours and
outsmarting others to get success. No crooked man has a future. Instead of
professors to research and proffer solutions to our present day problems, they
will prefer to fight over a piece of meat in conferences and hold students down
in the name of carry-over or reseat. Is this not madness? What makes you is not
what you are; it is who you are. What value do you carry? What are you willing
to give to our generation? What impact are you willing to make? Are you just
comfortable with what you are, that you have neglected who you are meant to be?
Wake up for success is not in the making; it is in the sustaining.
One
of the wildest madness among people in my generation is over-dependency on
government, father, mother, high class relatives, and what have you. I want to
ask one question, is there anyone that knew where and when he/she was going to
be born? Is there anyone that booked with the father and mother and said to
them “hey, you guys are going to get married and I will be your child?” Anyone
like that? We are all created to be independent but we are living in the irony
of our personality. Madness!!! Nobody will ever be the reason why you slipped
off. People are only meant to give sacrificial support; they were not created
to have you as their responsibility. You will die as the poorest man and without
honor, value or recognition if you ever blame anyone for your misfortune or if
you ever trust anyone for your success. The best motivation or inspiration that
can ever keep you is that which you give yourself. People only advice you; they
do not have the right to impose anything on you. Listen, the anchor you are
looking for is you. I am sure about it. It is you. There is a you in you that
you need to anchor on. You are receiving disappointments because you have never
discovered the direction of your life. You have not made a life plan. You do
not yet know where you are going; you have only known where you are coming
from. The resources of the past can never contribute to the fruition of the
future. You are the driver of your destiny, the captain of life sail, the pilot
of your success jet; do not drive yourself into doom. You are relying on people
because you have not appreciated what your potentials. For the potentials you
do not appreciate will continually depreciate. They can never produce for you for
you neglected their potency. Their will never be an overflow if you do not

4. What sacrifice am I willing to pay?
I
have come to realize that men are not just what they think; they are what they
are willing to do. A real man is committed to act what he had thought of to do.
There is no success that comes by luck and there is no opportunity that comes
by chance. All success has price tag. Have you ever seen where gold is picked
from the ground? The potential of a gold is in an ore dug from depths beneath
the earth crust. Dirty ore. Yet after it had been refined, it becomes the most
sought for and the most expensive. What determines the price of the gold is the
refining process. The gold had absorbed all the high temperature and hammering
to become gold. The price! Most of us had been crippled with this misconception
that “I can make it without stress” especially the youths. The shortest cut to
success produces the saddest funeral experience. Believe it or not, success
comes in bits not in quantum. No matter how big your dreams are, you must start
little. Any success story that does not have a sad experience is not complete.
You must be ready to count the cost and be willing to pay up. Stop putting
interest in the things you need; focus on what you have and maximize their
utilization in the actualization of your dream.
In one
of my article “Tools for Idea implementation”, I highlighted determination,
diligence and commitment, discipline, knowledge, passion, patience and above
all the will to act as the price of success. These, too are the price that must
be paid to empower your potential. You must be ready to pay these sacrifices to
get there. Men who are determined to succeed are always willing to dig deep. My
question is; how deep are you willing to dig? For every towerly idea, there
must be a towerly foundation. How far you are willing to go, will determine how
much you are willing to pay. You may not
have all it takes now but always refuse to remain stagnate. Keep moving by all
means. If you can not run, then walk. If you can not walk, then crawl. By
whatever means, make sure you are moving towards the direction of your potentials.
You will surely get there.
I
want to tell you something serious, what determines your value is not the
container (the body); it is the content (potential). It is not in the color of
the skin; it is on the beautiful color of your mind. You might be from the
poorest home today just like myself, you might be from a country with a poor
economic environment like myself or whatever of sort, be informed that they are
not your success determinants. In fact, you are poor so that you can discover
the wealth in you. You are an ore with a very expensive component. You must be
ready then to be refined not just as silver but something more than gold. I
tell you the truth by the time you are done, they whole world will sought for
you.
I
may neither have a job nor a company now, offices might have rejected me,
government might have neglected me because of poor academic grade or whatever
be their criteria. I am the one writing the application letters today but one
thing I am sure of; one day they will be the one writing the application to me.
I am sure of this. Have been rejected?
Have you lost a lot already? Are you already planning to give up on your
potentials? Have you already called it a quit? Are you in the situation that is
telling you “no need to try”? I want to encourage you to encourage yourself
right now. The worst rejection is self-rejection. If you quit today, someone
will start from where you stopped. Friend, inspire yourself. Put back your motivation and keep focus now.
