#2: Concept of Success Theory
Tools for idea manifestation

In my last article, I introduced the concept of success theory where I shared the first concept. In this article, I will be discussing extensively on the other concepts of success theory but before then let me quickly highlight some points that I refer to as "Tools for idea manifestation". They are numerous but I will like to summarize them. Among these tools are vision, focus and determination, confidence, humility among others that I will discuss in my next article titled "Success Factors" on Success Date. For now, let us consider the following;
- Core Essence:
This is the only reason why you
live on planet earth. Ask yourself
questions like; what am I here for? What are the things that make me
uncomfortable? What one thing can I do that only me can do it perfectly well?
What are the situations around me that get me angry? What are the resources
around me that I’m not making use of effectively and efficiently? These
questions provoke the creative ability in you such that by the time you get the
answers without procrastination, you launch into you great success. Truly, you
can not get what you are pursuing until you discover what you have. Simply put, you can only use what you have to
get what you don’t have. And how do you do this? According to J.F.K. Abiona, in
discovering your core essence in life, you must learn to cause artificial
scarcity of yourself, think about yourself and seek from divinity. Learn to hide yourself from the multitude,
have the time to think and answer the unresolved questions in your career that
are setting you behind. One thing that we must understand is that we cannot
change things that we are comfortable with.
According to Myles Munroe, whatever thing that makes you angry in your generation
is indicative of “who you really are”. Discovering your core essence will
create a channel for the flow of ideas and gives you the unequalled energy to
manifest these ideas. It gets rid of procrastination and places you on the topmost
height of your career.
- Capacity Building/Personal Development:
The world is looking for men that
dare impossibility. I always love it when people tell me “it is impossible”. I
like going for the “impossible” because that is what makes a man uniquely different.
Men who do common things (i.e. doing what others are doing and getting the same
result) are not recognized. You only need a change within you to cause a change
without. For you to anticipate development of your world, you must develop
yourself getting prepared for the task. Capacity building or personal
development includes activities that improve awareness and identity, develop
talents and potentials, build human capital and facilitate employability,
enhance quality of life and contribute to the realization of dreams and
aspirations (http://en.m.wikipedia.org
). In essence, capacity building is “pursuing and getting the right knowledge
that makes oneself irresistible in his career and outstandingly
different.” People that make history are
those that refuse to see and leave things the way they saw it, they go
extra-mile to discovering solutions through the pursuit and application of the
right knowledge. With the wave of
international growth and development around the globe today, capacity building
is indispensable for a true success.
According to J.F.K. Abiona, there
are five major areas you must develop yourself to be ready to manifest your
ideas and become irresistible and irrevocably successful;
1.
Spiritual
capacity
2.
Intellectual
capacity
3.
Leadership
capacity
4.
Character
capacity
5.
Emotional
capacity
If your ideas must
be manifested successfully, then you must be a prepared vessel.
- Apprenticeship and Mentoring:
Those that have fathers are those
that have the feathers to fly as said by Bishop David O. Oyedpepo.
Apprenticeship is the platform for enthronement and empowerment. There had been no successful man that did not
pass through the process of apprenticeship and mentoring. This process never ends because we all keep
learning from people above us. Growing, maintaining, sustaining and retaining
success involves continuous improvement through learning. Learn from your
mentors, experts and professionals. Do not be too rigid to receiving
instructions. Do not let pride come into your success life. It will bring you
down. Whatever thing you’ve been,
whatever thing you are and whatever thing you anticipate being, is
a function of the help rendered to you by the people you have met directly or
indirectly! You need instruction to be properly structured. Get
mentorship through inspirational and transformational audio tapes, CDs and
books from your mentors, experts and professionals in your career. Attend
seminars, conferences and workshops in the areas of your interest. Learn to practice the 70-20-10
principle. 70% of your time and
commitment to your mentors, 20% to your allies and 10% to your progeny. There
are people that had gone ahead of you in your life direction, why don’t you
learn from them and fast forward your track of life race.
You can never be a certified master until you
have become an accredited servant.
Humility is the way to the top.
Do not pay your way up, serve your way up. Mentoring and apprenticeship process is one
of the provoking channels for the flow of ideas. Discover who is your mentor
and he will put you in the right track on how to manifest that idea.
SUCCESS THEORY TWO:
PLANNING/STRATEGIZATION
The saying goes thus; “Failing to
plan, is planning to fail.” There is no
success that comes randomly, by chance or by luck. A true success manifests through a strategic,
efficient and effective planning.
Conceptualization of an idea is not enough, “how do I get it done?” is
the next dogged step that must be taken to manifest the idea. An often time, initiation of ideas does not
take as much time as planning. In
essence, planning is time intensive. It
is your planning that will determine how successful an idea will become. The
product of your idea is planning-dependent. Pull up a table, place your drawing
board and sketch out all measures for
the execution of the idea. Apply the
80/20 rule or the Pareto principle in you planning which says that 20% planning
determines 80% of your result. Make the 20% planning strategic, efficient and
effective so that you will not run into 80% loss and regret. Make a feasibility study, consider the risks
involved, create a mitigation plan, consider the resources needed and
production or service-rendering process(es), pull them together, discover the
skills needed, obtain and develop them. Consider who needs your service or
product and how to get it to them. In
all these, learn to always start small.
If after your forecast, you discover a heavy milestone that will hinder
you, then chisel it out and begin. All you need do is to convince yourself that
you must start it and it is now! Learn to overcome your limitation and never you
run away from them. Challenges are
fortune-bringers if you can conquer them. How do you do it? Strategic,
effective and efficient planning!
It is better never to have had an
idea than to plan to fail. What do I mean? Do not rush into doing things that
will not yield you profit. Take your time to assess your base plan. Determine
within you whether the idea is a short term or long term idea. Wrong planning will cost you all that you
have to give you all that you never desired. Such things like regret,
depression, frustration, among others.
This is why we all need mentors. Do not forget that!
SUCCESS
THEORY THREE: EXECUTION
When I was eight, before my dad
died, I saw an architectural plan that he kept in his drawer and asked for the
interpretation of the design and he said that was an estate design he wanted to
build but unfortunately, dad did not build that estate because of the
milestones that he did not chisel out. Dad was busy looking for assistance that
he never saw. He did not act on it on time and he died. The plan was wonderful but it was
never executed. Planning is good
but there is yet another promising aspect for delivery and that is execution. ACTION! Most people drop out in this face because, may
be they have considered some heavy milestones that overwhelmed their
imagination that they couldn’t think it through again. In planning, lay out things that you can
handle without depending on anybody. Put
the work on yourself. Out of 100% of the
people you know, you may only succeed in getting 20% to help you. In that 20%,
you have procrastinating people, impossibility thinkers, and dream
killers. By the time you are done, you
will discover that only about 2% of the people you know helped actualize the
dream. So, you must learn to plan for as much as you can bite. Think big but take it bit by bit, chunk by
chunk, slice by slice, and step by step.
There is a secret in business. The responsibility of tomorrow keeps you
up and doing. Planning and preparing for
tomorrow’s job keeps the business moving. It
is called BUSINESS because you have to be busy always with the right things at
the right time for the right people. Don’t think of finishing it once. If
you do, you might end up not doing anything at all. Remember, SUCCESS
IS DECEPTIVE!
After planning, speak action!!!
SUCCESS
THEORY FOUR: REAP/HARVEST
Harvest follows the philosophy of
life that says whatever a man sows that he shall reap. The laborer is entitled to his wages. In your plan, you must set a standard that
will help approximate or calculate your profit in the business. It is very
important as profit is the essence for setting a business. You have to set an indicator that should tell
you when you’ve achieved a set goal. It is
possible that you may achieved the goal without knowing it, so set the
indicator and watch it. But let me tell us this truth so that you won’t be
discouraged when you see it come. To every point in success, there is always a
milestone that faces you. At the beginning, it is always not smooth. A friend once told me, if you’re ready to go
into business, be ready to loss at least 10-20% of your investment in your
first beginning. To avert this, you must
really be experienced to handle all aspects of your career. Technical and professional experience are inseparably
important in life success. Your
feasibility plan should be able to forecast when you will break-even and start
reaping in bountiful fold.
SUCCESS THORY FIVE:
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Continuous improvement is an area that most people
overlook in success life. Most people
when they think they have come to their topmost height in their career, they
get carried away by their achievement and they fail to launch-in deeper. Most people from the initiation phase through
the planning phase do not set a continuous improvement plan in place, as such,
when they reach to their assumed maximum limit, they get overwhelmed and loose
their ability to think further. The only
permanent thing in life is change so we must always adapt ourselves to
that. Modalities come out every day;
modalities in business strategy, information and communication technology,
management among other vital areas of life. It is left for us to update our
knowledge and skills so that we do not become obsolete. How can one practice continuous improvement?
Commit yourself to continuous learning of new inventions, technologies and
vocabularies in your field. Commit yourself to training and re-training, look
out for and attend conferences, seminars and workshops in your career. Join a
professional network in your career and make sure you contribute and learn from
them. If possible, go for more education in related areas of your career.
Continuous improvement will delete vision limitations and make you limitless.
It helps you become an explorer thereby launching you into discovering other
means of continuously staying on. It
brings about product improvement, diversification, customer satisfaction,
business growth and personal satisfaction.
If truly you must succeed greatly, then your continuous improvement plan
must be drawn and followed strictly.
Take
a minute and answer these questions;
·
Are
you proud of your choices in life today?
·
Are
you comfortable with your decisions in your success life?
·
Are
your attitudes pushing you farther away from your success or is it drawing you
near to it?
These questions have the
potential to change your course of life instantly and launch you into the right
direction.
