This article will simplify
8-proven ways that will help you prepare yourself to prepare an effective
curriculum vitae. The process of writing a curriculum
vitae can be an exhilarating experience because it generates a heightened
degree of pride in your accomplishments as well as an increased awareness of
your skills. It is important you put the following in your preparation plan;
1. Enthusiasm
and passion:
Begin the
process with enthusiasm and a desire to share information about yourself. If
you approach this process with anxiety or uncertainty about its efficacy,
writing a curriculum vitae will not be a pleasurable experience. If you are like
most individuals, you will probably experience a mixture of emotions ranging
from nonchalance to denial of the need to prepare a CV. You will probably have
emotional highs and lows that will affect every aspect of the work to be
accomplished.
2. Self
feelings
It is essential
to recognize that your feelings about yourself have much to do with the degree
of confidence with which you approach and effectively complete this process.
Therefore, a little emotional introspection may well be in order. View the process
of preparing an effective CV as more than merely recording your educational and
work background. Instead, make it an intensely satisfying experience by
critically reflecting upon your life. This serves as a means of developing an
emotional and intellectual foundation that will take you on an investigative
course in the preparation of your CV. Keep in mind, however, that revisions,
additions, and clarifications will occur naturally as your work progresses.
3. Sound
mind
This is a very
important tool in constructing a powerful, mind-blowing and irresistible CV.
You must have a settled mind to enhance creative reasoning and thinking. Avoid
depression and evil thought during this process. Remember, lying is not permitted. An unsound mind will produce an unfit CV, so
be mindful of that.
4. Relationship
issues
Affection is one
of the things that affect us emotionally.
Too much affectionate attachment to writing a CV can be detrimental to
the marketing of the CV. Also, unsound relationship can affect the process of
writing a CV. You do not start writing a CV when you have a broken heart with
little or no concentration. Too much family issues can also affect this
process. You don’t start writing CV when
your mind is on your mother or father that is in the hospital or when they send
you out of the house. Writing CV is not
a revengeful process, it is a peace and joy-filled process.
5. Inferiority
complex and discrimination
Do not allow
intimidation by others to rule you during this process. Inferiority complex and discrimination arise
when you do not know what is inside of you. You are not a doctor, lawyer,
engineer, pharmacist or whatever and so what! There is something unique about
you that is not in another, so make ultimate use of it. Whatever can control
your thought life to making you have low esteem for yourself, can control and
destroy you through depression and frustration. Remember, for you to get what
you don’t have, you must first recognize what you have.
6. The
place of focus and concentration
Focus is the power that
helps you channel your resources to where they are needed and most appreciated.
In preparing a CV, you must have aims and targets. You do not just prepare CV because it is
needed in a work but you do so as to really know who you are. Focus is the driver that helps you achieve
your aim(s) through your target(s)(where you are sending your CV). Concentration comes into play when you have
discovered the purpose of your CV (aims and targets set). It is the power that disallows distractions
during this process. The more you get
focused and concentrated to your aim and targets, the more you prepare your CV
concisely and timely. It also removes
the hurdles of late submission of CV to targets, so learn to be focused and
disallow distraction.
7. Quietness
Quietness is a precious
gift that is not common to all but a few.
It is an attitude that can be learned through self discipline. You prepare a haphazard CV when you are not
quiet to think of the best that is in you.
Quietness helps you to meditate and think over your personality so that
you know how to present your CV. Learn
to be alone when needed so that your thinking can be enhanced.
8. Sincerity
You must be ready to
say who and what you are. Remember, lying
is not a skill in CV writing and therefore, it must be avoided at all
cost and at all time.
Since preparing to write a CV
must begin with emotional reflection, I highly recommend that you articulate
those emotions in an effort to anchor them. As you do so, you will generate
confidence and a frame of mind conducive to successfully creating an effective
CV. To begin, find a quiet place and allow yourself sufficient time to reflect
on the emotional and intellectual dimensions of preparing your CV.
